The Louisville Scholastic Chess Tournament

Are You Ready For The 2022 Louisville Scholastic Chess Tournament Sponsored by The Jefferson County Public Schools and Alpha Phi Alpha, Fraternity, Inc. Alpha Lambda Chapter?


Here are the details below:


Open to all K-12 grade and Collegiate chess players

First-Time Tournament Players: First-time tournament players are welcome and encouraged to participate. The Unrated section is a great introduction to tournament chess.


K-12 Grade Sections: Championship, U1700, U1300, U900, U500 & Unrated


Collegiate Section: Current college students under age 25, must present a valid driver’s license and college ID as proof of college

enrollment.


Format: 5 rounds, Game/30, D5

Pairings: 1st round/game will start at 10:00 am

Award ceremony est. @ 5:30pm

Awards: Trophies to the top 5 in each section (except Collegiate).


Collegiate Section: 1st place - $300, 2nd place - $125, 3rd place - $75.


This is a rated USCF tournament

Participation will require a valid USCF membership (except for those in the unrated section). Only players with no USCF rating and who haven’t played in a rated tournament before may register for the unrated section.
